ABSTRACTS

Bill Farrelly (@staychillbill) only started sewing a few years ago, but now he works full time out of his living room in Redondo Beach, California, creating custom chain-stitched patchwork for Hollywood’s most fashionable performers, including Greta Van Fleet, Post Malone, and Orville Peck.

When we asked the 30-year-old artist to be part of &SONS’ “Abstracts” series and create a custom design for our Carver chore jacket, he immediately replied “hell yes” and told us he would draw his inspiration from an esoterically odd piece of Harley-Davidson’s history.

ABSTRACTS | Bill Farrelly

“At a swap meet my friend found this rad, old Harley-Davidson speedometer: a ‘70s-era Police Special speedo that has rotating skulls rather than miles per hour," Farrelly says. “Not only were choppers cooler back then, but I guess cop bikes were as well. The artwork worked perfectly for the &SONS jacket; it looks traditional on a timeless-looking piece, and it will be cool for generations and get better as time passes.”
