The Kitsune Legend Short carries the same Japanese-inspired print as our Legend shirt, bringing that depth of pattern into a piece designed for warmer days by the water.

Cut from a lightweight Seaqual® yarn blend, the fabric is made using recycled marine plastic, recovered and repurposed into something made to last. It’s a quiet detail, but one that feels right. A fabric shaped by the same environment it’s made for.

Lightweight, breathable, and quick-drying, it moves easily between sea, pool, and everything in between.

The fit sits clean and easy, with a 16-inch outseam that offers coverage without restricting movement. A mesh liner adds comfort, while a functional fly and drawstring waist keep things secure through the day.

Styling

ORIGINS

The print finds its roots in Japanese folklore, where kitsune, or fox spirits, are seen as intelligent, shapeshifting beings woven into myth and legend.

For centuries, these stories have been captured through traditional ukiyo-e prints. Foxes depicted as messengers, tricksters, and guardians. Symbols of transformation, often shown mid-change, caught between one form and another.

Over time, these motifs evolved. From woodblock prints to theatre masks, and into more modern interpretations layered with bold colour, intricate florals, and subtle movement.

This pattern draws from that lineage. Not a direct copy, but a homage. Taking the energy, the symbolism, and the detail, and bringing it into a garment designed for the here and now.
