ORIGINS

Polo shirts were originally designed to be practical uniforms for various athletes. Similar garments were crafted in 1929 for French Tennis Players and in the 1930s they were used for polo players, hence the name.

Made from chunky cotton the shirt gained popularity throughout the years and spread beyond the world of sports. A large number of stars throughout the ‘50s and ‘60s wore Polo Shirts as relaxed streetwear pieces.
